Dragon77 is a fansite dedicated to the popular free-to-play multiplayer role-playing game WildStar. The site is run by a group of players and offers news, discussion forums, and more. The website features a wiki that allows fans to create articles and share information about the game. It was founded in 2007 and is located in the United States.
In a distant future the world is devastated by numerous alien invasions that have left the planet in ruins. A mysterious woman reveals that her people came from another dimension and she, and her younger counterpart, have come to Earth to save it. Despite their differences they become close companions and ally as they battle the Cosmic Cops that have overrun the planet.
The enigmatic SkyLark tells Dragon that she and her people are from a different time, a thousand years ahead of the present one. Her revelation is met with skepticism but she insists that the current destruction was not inevitable and that mankind can still be saved.
Meanwhile, the itinerant quack Doctor Terminus and his sidekick Hoagy have won over the gullible townspeople of Passamaquoddy. They claim to have a dragon named Elliott that they keep in a cave, and they demand to be paid for every piece of him they can bring them ("Money"). When Pete accepts their offer, the Gogans attack him, but he manages to sink their boat, saving himself and Elliott, who then reveals that he is a dragon that can turn invisible ("I Saw A Dragon").
A firefight ensues between the Gogans and the Dragon, with the latter getting the upper hand until a piece of debris knocks him over the edge of a cliff into a bottomless crater. There he meets up with the younger version of himself who has been waiting for him to arrive. They talk about how they both saved the day and then he helps the younger Dragon77 back to safety.
This is a sweet little movie, and even though it looks dated the animation is very good and there are some beautiful scenic shots. Sean Marshall is great as Pete and Helen Reddy is very nice as Nora. The other actors are also solid - Mickey Rooney as Lampie, Jim Dale as Doc Terminus, Red Buttons as Hoagy and Shelley Winters as Lena Gogan. Charlie Callas provides the vocal effects for Elliott, the dragon who befriends Pete.
